Game Description

Fling your heroes into battle and take down enemy squads using simple pull-and-unleash gameplay, where the personalities are just as big as the action. Assemble a team of ragtag heroes including lumberjacks, soccer players, gorgons, aliens, bird-men, and more. Then, upgrade your motley crew of heroes to unleash their inner-weirdo in the form of devastating attacks capable of tearing the space-time continuum a new one.

Role: Designer

  • Collaborated with a team of over 30 people in an Agile environment to ship Smash Squad which accrued roughly 350,000 installs
  • Worked with Lead Designer to discuss, design, and iterate on various gameplay elements and mechanics such as level design, hero powers, squad building, and economy to improve the fun factor and monetization potential
  • Designed and balanced all (300+) levels for the PvE Campaign and special events, each with unique themes, terrain, and enemy compositions to support the narrative and intended progression
  • Established level design tenets and maintained extensive level design documentation to inform other users and enable engineers to efficiently develop new level and hero power mechanics
  • Organized and operated weekly team playtests to ensure specific design goals were achieved allowing important iteration
